Fabian Hesse Mitra Wakil are an art duo exploring digital fabrication. In their artistic practice, they use 3D printing, (post-)digital modeling processes and the gaps and voids of new technologies to explore their potential for alternative realities. They use modes of alienation as speculative forms of world-building in sculpture, installation and performative scenarios.
Hesse Wakil are teaching Digital Materialities and interdisciplinary Media Arts as Professors at Academy of Fine Arts HGB Leipzig.
Their works have been shown at the Pinakothek der Moderne, Haus der Kunst München, Kunstmuseum Bonn, Kunstsammlungen Chemnitz, Kunstverein Wolfsburg, Halle für Kunst Lüneburg, Lenbachhaus München, Kunstverein Göttingen, Haus der Kulturen der Welt in Berlin, Goethe-Institut Bangalore, 54th Venice Biennale, Architecture Biennale Rotterdam, nGbK Berlin, and others.
